I couldn’t be more excited to share this special collaboration with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (Children's).
When Cary Bainbridge from the Emerging Leaders for Children's asked me to create a collection for their 2025 Scrubs Party, I couldn’t say "yes" fast enough! The upcoming event will support "Recovery Through Play," supporting Children’s Music Therapy and Therapeutic Recreation programs that bring healing and joy to young patients.
The Scrubs Party is one of Atlanta’s most beloved events—a night where the community comes together to celebrate and give back. Since 2014, it’s raised over $5 million for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s life-changing programs. This year, every dollar raised at the Scrubs Party will go to supporting Recovery Through Play, and I’m honored to contribute by designing a collection that tells the story of this incredible program.
As I began to design, I knew I had to capture the heart of what makes Recovery Through Play program so special. This isn’t just a program; it’s a lifeline for kids facing some of the toughest battles—strokes, cancer, brain injuries, and more. Through music, recreation, and sports, the program brings moments of joy, connection, and healing to kids who need it most.
I wanted every element of this collection to reflect the joy and impact of Recovery Through Play. The bold, energetic colors fill the scarf and midi, representing the vibrancy and resilience of these kids. Look closely at the guitar strings, and you’ll see they spell out "Recovery Through Play." Each letter aligns with its corresponding musical note wherever possible, blending artistry with the magic of music. And then there are the soccer ball and basketball woven into the design—symbols of the role sports play in helping kids regain strength, confidence, and a sense of normalcy. Whether it’s scoring a goal on the field or hitting a shot on the court, these moments of play remind kids that they’re capable of amazing things.
But here’s the best part: 100% of the proceeds from this collection will go to the Scrubs Party, supporting Recovery Through Play. Every scarf, every midi, every purchase is a step toward helping Children's continue their mission of healing through music, sports, and recreation.
For me, this project is more than just creating something beautiful—it’s about making a difference. These scarves aren’t just accessories; they’re symbols of resilience, joy, and the power of community to come together for something bigger. When you wear one, you’re part of that story. You’re helping a child smile again, sing again, and even score their next goal.
