Lauren — Lala — has been my best friend since we were seven. Her love of flowers is an inheritance from her mother, Cheryl, so her scarf became the garden she grew up in: eight beds of hydrangeas around a center medallion, in her calming blues and whites. Her mother's garden, handed down a generation and printed on silk. (Her mother's design is The Cheryl.)
