The KMM: What Takes Your Breath Away?
This design began with a trip. Kristin Meredith had just returned from Turkey, overflowing with inspiration but unable to pinpoint a single moment that defined it. She loved all of it. Every color, every view, every feeling.
Which is a wonderful problem for a traveler and a tricky one for a designer. At one point, I found myself stuck, trying to translate something that big into a single visual story. So one evening, over a glass of wine, I called her husband and asked a different question: When did you see her light up?
That changed everything.
The design became less about places and more about moments — the quiet awe, the wonder, the feeling of being fully present. Whimsical hot air balloons drift across the scarf as symbols of perspective and adventure. And hidden in the design, a small phrase that became the heartbeat of the piece: what takes your breath away?
A reminder that sometimes the most important journeys are the ones that shift how we see the world.
